Hyundai’s sub-brand Genesis has been winning over luxury vehicle lovers for some time now. Looking to continue the momentum, the Korean automaker has just introduced its newest in the series: the compact G70 Luxury Sedan.

If the design language looks more than vaguely bimmerish, and altogether Euro, that’s not surprising. The model is poised to compete with vehicles like the BMW 3 Series, and also the Mercedes-Benz C-Class. A tall order, but the G70’s price-feature ratio may make the entry-level luxury model a big hit.

A smaller, more afforable version of the G80 or G90, the stylish sedan boasts a long hood, short overhangs, and LED headlights. The interior design is sleek and modern, and centered by a large infotainment screen.

Drivers will be able to choose from a number of engine options, including a 3.3-liter turbocharged V6 able to reach 62 mph in only 4.7 seconds and a 2.0-liter inline four that produces 248 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque.

All that power under the hood is paired with some substantial tech: a multi-link rear suspension, a mechanical limited-slip differential, torque vectoring, and several updated safety features top the list.

Genesis has established a reputation for offering high-end features for lower prices, and this is sure to still be the case with the new G70, although pricing hasn’t been revealed yet. While sales for the G70 already started in Korea, American buyers will have to wait until next year for a test drive.
