Beyoncé Sells Midtown Manhattan Condo for $10M

Following a recent pair of high-level real estate purchases with husband Jay-Z—one on each coast—Beyoncé has let go of a residence in Sutton Place. The singer and fashion designer had owned the unit in One Beacon Court for over a decade; she purchased it in 2005 for a little over $5 million. The selling price, twelve years later, was $9.95 million. And it went quickly: records show that the listing went up in mid-June of this year, with a buyer ponying up for the contract later in the month.

The 2,669 square-foot condo incorporates three en-suite bedrooms. The renovation conducted by designer Jacques Grange was purely contemporary around the middle of the last decade, and is still quite relevant. Materials and finishes are superb, as expected, with oak plank or granite floors, and recessed and strip lighting. The kitchen is decked out in the holy trinity of appliance brands: Miele, Sub-Zero, and Wolf, and features custom Poggenpohl cabinetry and balsatina countertops.

Banks of floor-to-ceiling windows make the most of the substantial views; simple steel frames suffice, and do not distract from the eagle’s-eye 44th-floor perspective of Manhattan, Roosevelt Island, and the urban plain to the East, Queens and Brooklyn.

New twins and the fashion industry haven’t prevented Beyoncé from amassing talent and considering themes for her next album. Her last studio effort, 2016’s ‘Lemonade,’ brilliantly entwined personal statement and the contemporary American music scene, and sold in the millions.
