Pop singer Kelis has listed her very hip Spanish-style home in Los Angeles for $2.195 million.

The singer who gained notoriety for her hit 2003 single “Milkshake” purchased the Glendale home for $875,000 back in 2012. Built in 1924, the 3,850-square-foot home holds five bedrooms and includes a number of timeless features.

The restored estate welcomes visitors into its open floor plan with dark hardwood floors, barrel ceilings, bay windows, and a tiled fireplace. The formal dining room is charming, but the kitchen gets the prize: a careful composition of black-and-white checkered floors offset by a canary yellow stove, accented with tiled walls, and accessible via an arched entry.

In addition to a large master suite complete with a fireplace, heated floors, a steam shower, and a balcony, the owner will surely want to spend time outdoors where he or she will find a covered patio, a grill, and a fireplace. There’s also a separate guesthouse on the property.

Even though Kelis’ big hit came in 2003, the singer’s first album debuted in 1999. The fact that the kitchen is clearly the heart of the home is no surprise: since her hit song “Milkshake,” the multi-talented artist has begun a culinary career.
