Rear-wheel-drive lovers will be excited to learn that Audi has introduced its new 2018 R8 V10 RWS.

Essentially designed to drift, only 999 of the R8 RWS (Rear Wheel Series) vehicles will be available for Spyder and coupe models. Each will be hand built in the Böllinger Höfe R8 factory.

Of course, a lot of power will be expected from the new series, and the vehicles deliver plenty thanks to a 5.2-liter mid-mounted V-10 engine. The powerful engine makes 540 horsepower and 398 pound-feet of torque, and is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Truly crafted for speed lovers, the coupe can zoom from zero to 62 mph in just 3.7 seconds; the top-down Spyder can make the same leap in 3.8 seconds. Both editions boast top speeds of nearly 200 mph: 198.8 mph for the coupe, and 197.6 mph for the drop-top.

The R8 variant looks as exhilarating as it drives, too, with a matte black design and an optional red racing stripe. Available in Europe and Germany this fall, the 2018 Audi R8 V10 RWS starts at $168,500.
