Charlie Hunnam, who starred in ‘Sons of Anarchy,’ as well as this summer’s blockbuster revision of Arthurian legend, has decided to offer a residence for rent. The home, a roughly 1,500 square-foot bungalow in Fairfax, is currently available at a very reasonable $6.5K/month. Hunnam has owned the property since 2002; last year he purchased a 1920’s mission-style in Hollywood Hills.
The home’s exterior is quite plain, and from the street is defined by a brick front walk and step, bath window, and stucco. The back features an offset pair of sliding glass doors, with brick stairs and a small brick patio giving way to a little strip of lawn.
The interiors, though, show a great deal of recent attention. A renovation has left them glossy, modern, and blazingly bright. Floors transition from marble tile to hardwood, the latter of which provides a little much-needed warmth to the otherwise ethereal execution.
The master suite presents an interesting amalgam of industrial/contemporary detachment and warmth; the double sink and vanity in glass and stainless is an unexpected twist. The suite does incorporate—somehow—a walk-in closet. A fairly artful use of space.
The property, too, is space-efficient, working a detached guest house into the smaller-sized lot. It’s a studio layout, with a vaulted ceiling and a single bath. All told, there are four bedrooms and two baths across both residences.
Hunnam’s earlier film work included playing loose cannon Patric in 2006’s gloomy ‘Children of Men’; his role as Jackson in the hit series ‘Sons of Anarchy’ sealed his career, while the lead in ‘King Arthur…’ led to a potentially more interesting role: that of master criminal Papillon in this year’s remake of the early 1970’s classic.
