Weinstein Company Co-Chair Bob Weinstein Lists Duplex in Manhattan for $29.5M

This week, Bob Weinstein decided to see if the fourth quarter of 2017 will equate to better timing on the Manhattan real estate market. His charming apartment in the Beresford didn’t sell a few years ago, but it was recently re-listed, and with only a small reduction in asking price from its last listing at $29.75 million, in 2009. It is now being marketed at $29.5 million.

The duplex unit is located on the sixteenth and seventeenth floors of the Beresford, an iconic building that comprises a considerable amount of the architectural charm of Central Park West. The apartment measures 7,000 square feet, and contains five bedrooms, 6.5 baths, and fourteen rooms overall.

As it currently appears, the apartment is a pretty down-to-earth vision of top-tier Manhattan residential living. The kitchen is downright cottagey, a peculiar mix of hexagonal terra-cotta tile, bright pattern wallpaper and a period-reminiscent faux-lantern fixture. Elsewhere, the grand details of such a residence have been retained: the herringbone-pattern oak floors are beautifully contrasted, the sweeping staircase adds significant grace, casement windows and crown moldings suggest the period, and a series of wood-burning fireplaces add atmosphere.

Rooms include a library, a den with bath that could function as a guest suite, and a large master suite with a pair of walk-in closets, a dressing room, and a fireplace. The home includes staff quarters, as well as a private kitchen, on the upper floor, and there are terraces on both floors.

Bob and Harvey Weinstein sold Miramax to Disney in the early 1990’s. In 2005, the brothers founded The Weinstein Company.
