Actress Melanie Lynskey has just sold her Echo Park bungalow for $950,000; the four-bedroom home sold for $51,000 over its asking price. The New Zealand star known for her role on “Two and a Half Men” purchased the Los Angeles-area property for $597,500 in May of 2004.
The 1,472-square-foot home is located just below Sunset Boulevard, and nestled behind a large hedge and a white picket fence. The quaint home boasts a number of unique design features: stained glass windows, picture rail moldings, refinished hardwood floors, a decorative fireplace, and a small wrap-around porch all offer period charm. The home’s beige exterior is artfully accented with dashes of carmine, and interior toning presents an excellent and frequently surprising composition of cool and warm.
Lynskey’s former digs also include a retro-styled, eat-in kitchen complete with green checkerboard vinyl flooring, penny-tile countertops, and a restored vintage range. The four bedrooms are split evenly between the first and second floors but, unfortunately, both bathrooms are on the lower level.
Still, a great deal of classic L.A. bungalow charm, with a bit of craftsman influence evident in the details.
