Luxury watch brand Vacheron Constantin has introduced a new timepiece in its Patrimony Collection. If your taste in watches tends toward an understated, masculine definition of elegance, you should read on.

The new Excellence Platine watch’s style is beautifully unhurried, even given the implied Latin cliche associated with timepiece jewelry. It’s also being offered in a very limited run, with only 150 examples produced.

Vacheron Constantin’s new timepiece is free of kitschy additions that can sometimes make high-end watches look crowded or cheap. Instead, the watch boasts a beautifully simple 42mm signature case in 950 platinum with a thin bezel and curved lugs.

950 platinum and a classic three-hand watch look tell the story without laboring the narrative. The dress watch features a minimal aesthetic with baton hour markers and 18ct white gold primary hands. While the watch’s appearance is quite beautiful, the caliber 4400 AS manually-wound movement might be its most impressive feature, with 65 hours of power reserve and a Geneva Seal.

The exclusive Excellence Platine timepiece is paired with a blue alligator strap and is available for $37,400.
