Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard recently took possession of a very charming English cottage-style home in Los Feliz. The actors paid $4.3 million for the property, which represents a quick and presumably—depending on the extent of any renovations conducted—fairly profitable flip for someone: the home just sold this winter for $3.225 million.

The home presents itself well, with stucco exterior, a steeply pitched shingled roof, and a great deal of glass. The house is situated in Laughlin Park, and was built in the early 1920’s. Collectively, the main house and in-law apartment comprise 4,359 square feet of living space, with five bedrooms and 4.5 baths throughout.

The house’s more appealing details include a double-door entry to a foyer with beige and white tiled floor, stenciled walls, and period chandelier; the great room features original, narrow-plank oak floors, a stone fireplace with hardwood mantel, and another period ceiling fixture.

The kitchen and master suite beguile, the former with a well-defined cottage execution complete with cabinetry inset with leaded glass panels, the latter with a brick fireplace with tile hearth step and carved hardwood mantel, as well as an expansive terrace. In keeping with the style, there are surprising angles and nooks and crannies galore.

The property extends to nearly nine-tenths of an acre, an impressive size for the neighborhood. A pool and sunlounge, lawns, mature trees, brick accent walls, and lush landscaping give the home privacy and a pleasingly timeless feel.

Bell and Shepard married in 2013. Bell’s big-screen appearances this year include ‘How to Be a Latin Lover’ and ‘CHiPs’; Shepard, too, starred in ‘CHiPs,’ and also wrote, produced and directed the film.
