Rihanna may have finally found a place to settle down. The singer/songwriter has had her difficulties in securing a comfortable home; last December she sold an 11,000 square-foot modern in Pacific Palisades over concerns about stalkers, and in 2012 she said sayonara to another modern in Beverly Hills. She sold the second home at a substantial loss, and has been renting in the interim periods.
Well, the days of rentals are over. Rihanna purchased this house for $6.8 million. It’s a recent build, just two years old.
A postmodern blend of Spanish Colonial and modern styles, the home is nestled into the hills about Sunset, and gated, so it has privacy. And it’s 7,130 square feet, a generous size that still manages a pleasing sense of expanse.
The home’s interiors are tonally subdued—only contrasts are evident. The softening influence of the foyer’s arches begins the house, but otherwise, it looks angular, glossy, and moody. The hardwood floors exhibit good craftsmanship and attention to detail, and the steel-framed doors and windows look solid and tastefully unassuming.
The home’s amenities include a billiards room, a tiered home cinema, a cutting-edge kitchen, and fitness center. Exterior details include an infinity pool, lounge and entertainment space, and a nice stretch of lawn.
Rihanna’s voice may be bested only by her acute fashion sense and individualism; last year, she launched her own clothing line, and she has collaborated with many high-profile figures in the fashion industry.
