While Fiat is typically known for its compact cars, the automaker has branched out this year, and introduced a new camper van that offers road-trippers an alternative to VW basis and Mercedes-Benz ultra-luxe.

The Fiat Ducato 4×4 Expedition Camper Van was introduced with the hope of capitalizing on the #VanLife trend that’s become popular of late. These unique adventure vans are much more versatile than RVs, and many view them as tiny homes on wheels.

Fiat paired with Automobiles Dangel, Technoform, and Olmedo Special Vehicles to get the build, body, and style just right. In addition to increasing the high of the van, Fiat added a front winch, a LED light bar, new wheels, and plenty of carry capacity on the roof.

The interior is ideal for any explorer with amenities like a modern kitchen, a dining area, and a storable full-size bed. Additionally, the camper van is decked-out with plenty of tech, and includes a TV in the bedroom area.

The special van is powered by a 2.3L MultiJet-2 I-4 diesel engine that produces 140 horsepower. The Expedition is four-wheel drive, of course, so travelers can navigate unfamiliar terrain without worry.
