Pop musician Adam Lambert’s flashy mid-century modern has hit the market at $3.995 million. The singer picked up the property in 2014, for a whisper less than $4 million, and is clearly interested in trading up after a long tour with the band Queen, which he joined the same year.

The home dates to 1947, and is a modern design with a little streamline moderne influence. It might be considered a transitional design, including graceful elements of streamline in an otherwise boxier modern execution. A renovation left its exterior a soft gray, hinting at contemporary styling.

Renovations to the interior are among the home’s highlights—the kitchen and master bath are each a beautiful statement, the former revised with a blend of green tile, grey granite, stainless and Scandinavian-influenced wood cabinetry, the latter an artful rendition of 1930’s-era sensibilities with black and beige marble, wood, and cool toning. The master bedroom’s private terrace caps the round flourish in the back of the house, which is the dayroom on the first floor.

The 3,780 square-foot home features Fleetwood doors, extensive climate-controlled wine storage, fitness room, home cinema with fireplace, and a long canopied exterior living space on the fringe of the terrace, pool and spa.

Lambert’s powerful voice and glam-rock influences made him the ideal replacement for Freddie Mercury in Queen. He continues to perform with the band.
