An estate once belonging to early Hollywood royal Marion Davies has just sold for $2.175 million.
Built in 1956, the 13,908-square-foot Rancho Mirage home was commissioned by Davies herself. Aside from its unique pedigree, the property is truly impressive on its own merits, boasting nearly three acres of sprawling grounds.
The home is pink on the outside, and the interiors are packed with details. Design elements include mirrored walls, large columns, pink patio arcades, and gallery hallways.
The property’s exterior features include a swimming pool, a waterfall, a full tennis court, and a private lake with a paddle boat and dock.
First listed last summer for $3.4 million, the beautiful property took about a year to sell, and fetched a price quite a bit less than its original ask.
In addition to her work in films like “Cain and Mabel” and “Peg o’ My Heart,” Davies found fame in her relationship with married media magnate William Randolph Hearst.
