The NFL’s Chargers relocated from San Diego to Los Angeles during the off season, and now the team’s future Hall of Fame tight end Antonio Gates and his wife, Sasha Gates of “WAGs” fame, have joined the migration north with the $6.995 million purchase of a new home in Encino, California.

The newly constructed six-bedroom, eight-bathroom house measures in at 8,500 square feet and boasts a contemporary style that includes retractable walls of glass. Other amenities include a floating staircase, a glass-enclosed wine cellar and tasting room, a floor-to-ceiling wall fireplace between the family room and the center-island kitchen, and a private screening room.

Outside, there is a kitchen and fireplace in a covered patio space, a half-court basketball court, an infinity-edge swimming pool, and a four-car garage.

Gates and his wife have been busy in the Southern California real estate market of late, selling his Poway, California, home in May and recently listing another one of their properties in Hollywood Hills.

Gates is the Chargers’ all-time record holder for receiving yards and touchdown receptions with 11,192 yards and 111 TDs. The eight-time Pro Bowl tight end is currently tied with Tony Gonzalez for the most career TDs by a tight end in NFL history.
