For motorcycle fans not looking for a cafe racer, sport bike, or a large cruiser, Indian has the answer with its new Scout Bobber.
The stripped-back cruiser was turned into a bar hopper using a little forward-thinking technology, and Indian is calling it their ‘urban assault bike.’ The 2018 Scout Bobber is a little different than the rest of Indian’s current lineup, including a look that offers no wind protection and diminutive saddle bags. It’s specifically designed to be a city or short-distance ride, not a touring bike.
And while the Scout Bobber takes Indian forward, the look is almost reminiscent of the famed American brand’s roots, taking a few styling cues from the original Indian model from 1920.
For the powerplant, Indian has given the Scout Bobber the 1133cc, 100-horsepower V-Twin engine complete with the same disc braking system, liquid cooling, and six-speed gearbox as the Scout.
The model will come in a number of colors, including murdered-out Thunder Black, Star Silver Smoke, Bronze Smoke, Indian Motorcycle Red, and Thunder Black Smoke, with the last being the only color option for an ABS braking system on the model.
Pricing for the new 2018 Indian Scout Bobber ranges from $11,500 to $12,500, depending on the color. Indian dealerships are currently taking pre-orders from interested parties.
