Kevin Costner has cut the price on his slice of Carpinteria oceanfront by five million dollars. The actor and director had initially priced the property at $60 million this past February, but recently dropped the asking to $55 million.

The house is a rudimentary affair, pretty basic shelter. It contains a pair of bedrooms, and 1.75 baths. The land it sits on, however, stretches to ten acres of some of the most beautiful coastal real estate in the country.

A coastal California ranch waiting to happen, the land is a sprawling stretch of fertile green, with a nice expanse of lawn bordered by woodland. The property is accessible via a long dirt road.

The home is a small, simplistic alcove of shelter in a green sea, with the Pacific lolling behind. It measures only about 1,000 square feet, and is a clapboard sided and metal roofed design with a single floor. Listing photos do not even acknowledge an interior of the home, of course. The ten acres of coastal land with beach access in Carpenteria is the long and short of the listing.

The property contains a beach access road. The beach is a haven for surfers, and a substantial break may be seen in some of the pictures below.

Costner’s band—‘Modern West’—allowed the Hollywood triple threat to fulfill his lifelong dream of becoming a honky-tonk man, sans rye whiskey and Luckys. The band has released three studio albums, and this year produced a single, ‘Love Shine.’
