Ducati has announced the end of an era, revealing its final series of V2 bikes before the V4 generation of models is unveiled. So what did the Italian bike giant decide to name its final V2 model? Very fittingly, it has been dubbed the Panigale R Final Edition.
Ducati is sending out its twin-V models in style with the bike, giving the Final Edition a number of one-of-a-kind touches, including a Tricolore paint job that mimics the Italian flag, a full race electronics package, and a 90-degree V-twin powerplant outfitted with special cylinder heads and camshafts.
The engine is a bonus that comes borrowed from a 1299 Superleggera: it makes up to 209 horsepower and packs 104.7 pound-feet of torque.
Other upgrades and features include Öhlins NIX30 forks, Marchesini aluminum wheels, and Brembo Monobloc brake calipers.
The 1299 Panigale R Final Edition will be offered in a numbered production run, making it a bike that has potential to become a collector’s item.
