Actor Ariel Winter has provisionally sold up a newly-built Modern in Sherman Oaks. The actress, best known for her portrayal of precocious Alex on the hit ABC show ‘Modern Family,’ picked up the quick-flip opportunity late last summer for $1.58 million, and has seen it into contingent sale status with an offer of $1.65 million. The construction dates to last year.

The home’s façade presents a classic mid-century modern streetside impression: converging boxes with glass, and a little wood and natural stone accenting for a dash of naturalistic appeal, and a reminder. The property, from the front, voices geometry in no uncertain terms, offering a series of segments to the eye: lawn, drive, garage and gate doors.

The interiors are articulated in that contemporary manner, with pale plank hardwood flooring, white ceilings shorn of ornament but for a vast array of recessed light fixtures in a regular pattern. The home’s open-concept central living area incorporates dining room, living room and kitchen, as well as a glass-enclosed wine room, in a linear progression from the foyer. Accent walls and a little stacked stone offer a little demarcation and texture. The kitchen is minimalist, with dark cabinetry, stainless, and quartz countertops for a little visual interest; it opens onto the property exterior via a wall of folding glass.

The home contains four bedrooms and four baths along its 3,300 square feet. The master suite features another, partial wall of folding glass which opens onto the patio, fire-feature, and pool area. The patio is slate, and extends to a grill station and outdoor dining area.

Winter’s appeared in this year’s indie ‘Dog Years’; the film garnered critical praise, and placed her across from Hollywood legend Burt Reynolds.
