Luxury fashion designer Reem Acra recently listed her stylish NYC apartment for $5.5 million. The interiors, presumably by Acra’s hand, comprise a lush cultural expression of her native country in a New York cosmopolitan context.

Located at 245 Seventh Avenue in Chelsea, Acra’s apartment stretches to 3,239 square feet and holds four bedrooms and 3.5 baths, although it’s currently configured as a two-bedroom unit. Acra purchased what used to be two adjacent units back in 1999 and 2001.

Of course, the home is far from ordinary, and it boasts a unique aesthetic befitting of the designer, juxtaposing Middle Eastern motifs against high fashion. Classic elements like hardwood floors and large, airy windows allow for additional warmth and plentiful light.

The Chelsea Atelier dates to 1911. The 12-story building was converted to condominiums in 1996.

The Lebanese fashion designer is best known for her intricate and awe-inspiring wedding dresses, which have been worn by many celebrities, including Beyonce and Jane Fonda.  Acra also owns homes in Nashville and Beirut.
