RE marketing gamble #17: jack up the price to cajole and entice, and keep offers from dipping beneath the surface of expectation. Sometimes it works.
So presumably opines Rockstar brand energy-drink czar Russell Weiner, who knows a thing or two about amassing cash. Having listed the property this winter with an initial asking price of $45 million, he’s now raised the price to $49 million. Weiner tossed down chump change for the home in 2015, reportedly pocketing the deed for $27 million.
The famous Beverly Park estate was owned for a decade by Madonna, but purchased by Weiner as an investment opportunity. It had been renovated by the previous owner by the time it came to market in 2015.
A country estate in the French style, the interior living space on the property—which is divided between the main house, a guesthouse, and a pool house which serves as an entertainment venue—measures 12,100 square feet, with nine bedrooms and fourteen baths throughout. The original construction dates to 1968, but the renovations have left it fully aligned with current high-end luxury home fashions: hand-crafted details like custom milled cabinetry, liberal use of slab marble, and smart tech.
Taken together, the houses contain a beautifully cohesive and fairly simple design vision. Interiors use skylights, clerestories, and vaulted ceilings to enhance light and space. And nearly every room emphasizes the property exterior, constantly inviting interior/exterior transition. There are seven fireplaces throughout, each an individual statement. Amenities include a home cinema, fitness center, and a pair of full bars.
The lot is a stunningly landscaped 1.14 acres, with gardens and rare plantings throughout, giving the property a lush backdrop.
Weiner founded Rockstar in 1998. The line has grown to encompass nearly endless variations of the original.
