A mere month after selling a home in the Hollywood Hills, actress, comedienne and writer Mindy Kaling has listed a home in Beverly Grove for sale. The house is being marketed at $2.195 million. Kaling purchased the home for $1.58 million in 2007.

Like the house which Kaling recently parted ways with, the home in Beverly Grove is a 1920’s Spanish style. This time around, the house is a bit larger, with living areas measuring 2,674 square feet. It’s also a little more fully articulated, and is firmly rooted in the Spanish Eclectic design style.

Which means that, streetside, it’s a charmer. Lots of soft angles, an arched and slightly recessed entry, lantern-style exterior sconces, stucco, and a low-pitched tiled roof all beguile with a collective sense of timelessness.

The interiors are a blend of stucco, dark wood, rounded edges, arches, and period-style fixtures. The living room is distinguished by an open-trussed ceiling with hand-hewn beams, a kiva fireplace with a tile hearth step, a Spanish Colonial-style chandelier, and a niched mantel. The family room continues the trend, with a second fireplace and chandelier, and niche shelving.

The dining room and kitchen stray a little, offering a soft mid gray-blue to the design’s palette, and the kitchen’s current revision features staples stone countertops and stainless, as well as cottage-style cabinetry.

The home contains four bedrooms and 2.5 baths overall, with two of the baths executed in black and off-white or jade-colored tile, and distinguished by arched alcoves for shower, toilet and soaking tub. The master bedroom includes a connected sitting/dressing room.

The property exterior doesn’t amount to much, although the rebuilt garage, currently in use as a gym, could be converted into a very small studio.

Kaling’s run on ‘The Mindy Project’ is due to end in 2018; the fifth and final season begins this fall on Hulu. Upcoming or ongoing film projects for Ms. Kaling include an adaptation of L’Engle’s ‘A Wrinkle in Time’; and about time, too.
