New England Patriots ex-cornerback Ty Law put his home in Plantation, Florida on the market this past winter with an asking price of $2.245 million. The professional football star has reduced the price a little, and is now asking $2.198 million for the property.

The villa mixes the Floridian Mediterranean-style with Pacific Isle influences. It measures 5,500 square feet, and features a rambling layout. It’s situated in the gated Hawk’s Landing community.

The interiors are generally quite adventurous. Featuring natural-finished wood accents, metallic flourishes, carved support columns, an interior water feature, marble floors, and a blend of soothing cool and warm tones, the home’s interiors are pleasant and unique. The staircase ventures into contemporary design, with a glass baluster, and a hardwood and steel aesthetic.

The home’s step-down living room flows into the dining room and kitchen. The design isn’t open, but the emphasis is placed on a natural sense of flow. Ceilings are high and design is varied, with pockets and trays throughout. There’s a great deal of visual interest offered in the interior architecture.

The home’s family room, with a granite motif throughout, represents a sudden tonal change, shifting gears into moody grey, and the palette is picked up in the master bath, which features marble and custom hardwood vanities and an inlaid floor. The master bedroom is influenced by tropical design, and features a sitting area, and a great deal of naturally-finished wood as a design accent. There are six bedrooms and 6.5 baths overall.

The home also contains a games/billiards room and a home cinema with a kitchenette, but the exteriors are where the recreational emphasis is places. An involved lagoon-style pool with grotto, waterfalls and waterslide, a summer kitchen, and a Tahitian-style poolhouse with a wet bar and an attached footbridge occupies much of the half acre-sized lot.

Law, a two-time All-Pro who played in five Pro Bowls, was with the Patriots for three Superbowl wins; his career also included stints with the Jets, the Broncos and the Chiefs. He was inducted into the Patriots Hall of Fame in 2014.
