It seems impossible that this is a first for Porsche customers, but, for the first time ever, purchasers of the new Porsche 911 Turbo S Exclusive Series will have the option of buying a companion timepiece, the Porsche Design Chronograph 911 Turbo S Exclusive Series.

The watch is being made in a limited edition run of 500 examples, and it comes personalized to match the new 911 S Turbo Exclusive Series owner’s vehicle. It is almost surprising that it took Porsche Design, which has been around since 1972, 45 years to come out with a matching chronograph.

Not only is the Porsche Design watch exclusive, but the car it is based on is one of the most powerful 911 models ever produced by the German automaker. It packs 27 more horses than any other Porsche 911 Turbo S model, and comes with hand-finished touches, bespoke designs, and rare materials. The unique, high-end touches come by way of the new Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur facility in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen, Germany.

In order to truly make the timepiece a matching model, cosmetics have been made customizable to match features of the car.

The case measures in at 42mm and is water resistant up to 164 feet. The case material is black carbide-coated titanium, and the dial is crafted out of carbon fiber. It is attached to a leather strap or a matching titanium bracelet.

Inside, the timepiece is powered by Porsche Design’s first in-house movement, the Caliber Werk 01.200, that offers a 48-hour power reserve. It is COSC-certified and beats at a 4-Hertz frequency.

The Porsche Design Chronograph 911 Turbo S Exclusive Series watch is set to cost $12,650. In comparison, the MSRP of the Porsche 911 Turbo S Exclusive Series car will begin at $257,500.
