Jennifer Lopez’s recent music video shoot for her single ‘Ni Tu Ni Yo’ has yielded a property listing: the Zim estate, which featured as the background and foil for Ms. Lopez in the video, has been relisted with an asking price of $6.5 million.

The estate, situated in Islamorada, Florida, is comprised of five structures on a little less than eight acres of waterfront land, including an acre of bay-bottom land. All told, there are 8,762 square feet of interior living space amid the five homes, with fifteen bedrooms, and thirteen full or partial baths throughout.

The estate is the one-time residence of naturalist and teacher Herbert Zim, who wrote the popular Golden Guides which frequented bookcases in the 1960’s and 70’s. A family retreat, the residences all share the same tumbledown, slightly dilapidated bohemian look; there’s more than a little of the hippie commune in the insouciance of the surroundings.

J-Lo’s producers kept mainly to the turquoise waters, palms, and sand for the shoot, needless to say, but the place has more of an authentic feel than the millions of design-engineering dollars which will inevitably be sunk into it after the sale could ever manage to convey. Cinderblock walls and shiplap, and Caribbean pastels to dress it up a little.

The framework is there for a small resort or an extensive retreat. The boat basin measures 200’ by 70’, with deep water, and the property features 400’ of private waterfront. Driveways are lined with lush subtropical vegetation.

The video supports Lopez’s newest studio record—‘Por Primera Vez’—which is due to be released in September.
