Social-media butterfly and hard-boiled businesswoman Kylie Jenner has passed a property on to a new owner; the reality-T.V. fixture accepted $3.3 million for the little villa, purchased the home about two years ago for $2.6 million.
Jenner had the home listed off-and-on for over a year; the home had re-entered the market in mid-June of this year, selling quickly at a substantial reduction from the initial listing price.
The home—which dates to 2006—presents itself streetside with a blend of stone and terra-cotta roof tiles, and a dramatic contrast of white stucco and black accents. Landscaping mixes stacked stone and brick with groomed plantings in a pleasingly well-engineered layout, a good indication of the level of craftsmanship employed in the house generally.
Interior space measures 5,100 square feet, with six bedrooms and 6.5 baths throughout the home’s two floors. The tonal scheme takes the exterior’s offset white-on-black and milks it, making the spaces extremely dramatic, and moodily beautiful. Floors are finished black, and black is picked up for the exposed ceiling beams; soft grey walls enhance the grey-scale effect. The tones come together in the pattern of the round day-room ceiling, which gives the home a coolly mathematical aesthetic.
Notable design flourishes include the light fixtures, a combination of chilly statements which run the gamut from Spanish colonial to 1950’s modern, and the cavalcade of skulls wallpaper in a guest bath. The master bathroom’s fascinating combination of black, white, and mirror won’t be to everyone’s taste, but it does indicate a strong sense of style; it could be what Stephen King had in mind for the bathroom in Room 237. The master suite includes both a walk-in closet, and an accessory closet.
The property extends to a little more than a third of an acre, and is designed for entertaining: two fire features, a covered dining area, and an outdoor bar with a grill station are all arranged around the pool and spa. The home features limited solar power.
