Real housewife Meghan King Edmonds and retired MLB player Jim Edmonds—an All-Star four times over—have sold their home in Newport Beach. The home had been on the market for a little less than six months, and sold for $3 million. It had been listed at $3.4 million at the time of sale, and last changed hands in 2006, when it sold for $1.5 million.

The house in Newport Heights—which was featured as a set on ‘Real Housewives of Orange County’—measures a little more than 5,500 square feet, and contains five bedrooms and 5.5 baths. The original Spanish revival construction dates to 1951, although extensive renovations have brought the interiors more into line with modern Spanish design sensibilities.

The house’s interior spaces are marked by a generally cool palette, with greys being used most predominantly, although a little blue sneaks into the foyer and great room to inject a little levity. Floors are generally natural stone tile, which combines with the greyscale toning to give the home a coolly detached look.

Fixtures of divergent styles are presented in the overall composition; in the double-height great room, a Spanish colonial-influenced chandelier is suspended from the soaring ceiling, while a reclaimed barn door and ornate, raised hearth fireplace share the master suite.

The kitchen may be the most welcoming room in the house, though. The huge center island features a seating niche, as well as a breakfast bar, and the farmhouse and restaurant-grade influences come together nicely.

Edmonds spent the bulk of his career with the Angels and the Cardinals. As of this season, he begins four years with Fox Sports Midwest, as a Cardinals playing analyst. His wife Megan joined ‘Real Housewives…’ in 2015.
