Jared Leto’s former Hollywood Hills home sold a little bit above the asking price. Listed at $1.999 million prior to the sale, the actor accepted offer amounted to $2.05 million for the property. Leto purchased the boxy midcentury house in 2006, for $1.6 million.

Rumored to be a one-time home of entertainer Jimmy Durante, the house dates to the middle of the 1950’s, and measures 4,021 square feet. It contains four bedrooms and three baths, and is set up at present as a work and entertainment space: there is an office, the family room contains a wet bar, and an additional living space has been set up as a recording studio.

Kitchen and living room are nicely proportioned; the latter features a fireplace. A dayroom off the kitchen is bright and airy, and features an arc of windows. The master bath is executed in contrasting slate and off-white, a pleasing contrast, and the slate provides some much-needed texture to the master suite.

Floors throughout the home are tile, or dark-finished plank hardwood. Overall, the tonal scheme isn’t adventurous, but it is innocuous, and a keen artistic eye may be able to transform efficiently using only furnishings, as Leto did.

The home’s exterior is, poolside, vine-covered, with lush flora offering the necessary privacy for the neighborhood. The pool, grill station, and outside steps are all accented with the same slate used in the master bath, establishing a firm sense of interior/exterior continuity for the property.

Leto will be appearing in the upcoming and wildly anticipated ‘Blade Runner 2049’; the film is set for release this October.
