A Palm Springs ranch-style that once belonged to Walt Disney has just sold for $865,000.
Located just under two hours from Downtown Los Angeles, the residence with an iconic pedigree was on the market almost seven months before finally being scooped up for about $35,000 under its asking price.
The 2,443-square-foot home was built in 1962 as a desert retreat for Disney and his wife, Lillian. While he only enjoyed the house for four years before his death, he is quoted as referring to the house as his “laughing place.”
Disney did own a second home in Palm Springs, but he sold it in order to help pay for the construction of his iconic Disneyland. This particular home remained under the ownership of the Disney family until 2015, and since then, it’s undergone colorful renovations that enhance its famous heritage.
The future owner, a devoted Disney fan, decked out the home with several Disney quotes and a bright color palette. Additional features include a gas fireplace, a pool and spa, and an ideal spot on the second fairway of Indian Canyons North Golf Course.
