Fisker has just released more details about its impressive EMotion vehicle, which may become a major rival for Tesla’s Model S.
Henrik Fisker, who’s curriculum vitae includes work on the designs of the BMW Z8 and Aston Martin DB9, started Fisker Inc. in order to build luxurious new cars. Fisker claims the EMotion has an impressive range of 400 miles.
The EMotion features a top speed of 161 mph, in addition to a fast-charging system dubbed the UltraCharger; together with the EMotion’s range, this is the innovation which may allow Fisker their piece of the luxury EV marketplace, meeting or besting Tesla’s Supercharger station charging times.
Slightly different than the prototype, the production model boasts a sporty shape with nontraditional design elements, like the grille and headlights.
With the cost of its super-large battery pack, EMotion will set drivers back $129,000. However, multiple battery-pack size options will be available in the future to allow prospective owners to tailor their vehicle to their needs.
Although the Fisker EMotion will not go into production until 2019, preorders start June 31 on Fisker’s website, and at company-owned stores.
