Actor’s actor Michael Caine has decided that he’s had enough of the flooding in South Florida, and has re-listed his condo in Miami Beach. The legendary British film star is looking for $8.7 million for an outright sale, but he’ll rent the place for $29K a month. Caine has had the property on and off the market for a couple of years; it was initially listed at $12.9 million, in 2015.
Located in the Apogee building—arguably the most desirable building in the region—Caine’s residence spans 4,154 square feet, and the expansive terrace space the building is known for; in Caine’s unit, the outdoor living area adds an additional 2,440 square feet of living space to the condo.
With four bedrooms, three and half baths, media room, and living and family rooms, the condo’s interior is generously proportioned and features a pleasing layout. As elsewhere in the Apogee, the emphasis is on light and modern-influenced design, but Caine’s unit features a great deal of nicely figured woodgrain, giving it charm and warmth.
The terrace features an outdoor kitchen, a wrap-around design, and generous lounge space with views of South Beach, the ocean, and Biscayne.
Two-time Oscar-winner Caine’s career spans appearances in more than a hundred and fifty films, as well as work in the theater. His cherrypicked roles post 2000 include the unfortunately overlooked ‘The Quiet American,’ an adaptation of the Graham Greene novel. His most recent film is the unimaginative remake of ‘Going in Style,’ which opened in April, and is faring well at the box office; the film’s consolations include Caine alongside Morgan Freeman and Alan Arkin, which is more talent than any one plate of rehash deserves.
