Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi parted ways with one of their condos in the Beverly West. The couple accepted $6 million for the property, which comes in at a little less than 20% under the initial asking price. The couple paid $6.2 million for the home about three years ago, though, so it turned out to be a less than successful investment.
The condo measures a little more than 3,800 square feet, and contains two bedrooms and three baths. The interior is a nicely executed blend of Eastern-influenced contemporary, with a very open concept layout. The space is bright, warm, and tastefully presented.
From the entryway, the living room, dining room and kitchen all flow in a nice progression, with the kitchen at a back wall. Grey-green slate flooring contrasts nicely with the lacquer-black cabinetry and green stone countertops and island cap. Elsewhere muted cool and warm earth tones contrast well, too, giving the unit an unusually artistic color palette.
The bedrooms are presented en-suite, and are similarly proportioned, although one of the baths is a little more extravagant than the other. The unit features outdoor balconies that offer a pleasing survey of the nearby L.A. Country Club.
The building’s amenities include a saltwater pool, spa, and grilling and lounge area.
The Ellen DeGeneres Show shows no signs of slowing down, or a rating abatement. De Rossi smoldered in ‘Scandal,’ until her character’s untimely end in the most recent season.
