Jillian Michaels has reduced the price on her industrial-chic beachfront extravaganza of poured concrete and glass. The personal trainer and fitness guru is now asking $8.775 million for the Malibu home.

The price represents a nearly $1 million drop since the house went on the market last year; it was initially listed at $9.75 million, and reduced to $8.88 million this past February. Prior to her attempt to sell the property, Michaels had offered it as a $40K/month rental.

The house’s design is bold and chilly. It lacks subtlety, that’s certain, but makes up for it with a sense of conviction. The interiors are beautifully moody, and defined by all the glass and cement. Even woodgrain is worked into the rigid vision, with the kitchen cabinetry and plank ceilings aligning with the stark ordered vision of the rest of the home.

The sense of space in the common living area is acute; a good sense of freedom in the double-height ceiling, and the glass walls soaring upward. Lighting is very modern, with recessed fixtures, and a molecular chandelier over the living room. Not sure about the dining room chandelier, but maybe it was on sale.

The beachfront home contains three bedrooms, all en-suite, across about 4,300 square feet of interior living space. An outside deck and second-floor terraces offer exterior lounging; the terraces are wedge-shaped, perhaps, in an effort to work in as many hard angles as possible.

Michaels is a celebrity trainer who uses a blend of Yoga, martial arts and traditional fitness to give her clients a well-rounded, spiritually uplifting, and empowering cardio/weight-loss experience. Her E! Network series ‘Just Jillian’ is in its second season.
