Pop artist Harry Styles recently listed a property in Hollywood Hills West for sale. The English singer and actor is asking $8.495 million for the house, a straight-ahead modern dating to the late 1940’s. Styles quietly purchased the property off-market late last summer for $6.87 million, so this may work out to a quick flip with a seven-figure clearance.

The house measures about 4,100 square feet, and contains four bedrooms and 5.5 baths. It has been extensively renovated.

The home’s renovations include dramatic changes to the media room, now sheathed in warm dark tones, a shift from the paler cool of the room’s previous incarnation. The open-concept main living area has a good sense of scale, and French doors opening onto the deck; recessed and highlighted ceilings, and recessed lighting all speak to contemporary tastes.

The home’s retractable glass walls offer plentiful interior/exterior flow, and give the home a good sense of continuation. The master suite features its own retractable wall with balcony access, as well as a large master bath with an elevated soaking tub. Renovations have darkened the interiors considerably, giving the spaces a bit of moodiness and drama, and the master bedroom is a good example of the stylistic shift.

The property’s exterior living spaces are varied. The kidney-shaped pool and patio moves toward a cabana space in the main house, and there are outdoor terraces looking out over greater Los Angeles.

Styles is best known for his role in the boy band ‘One Direction’; in 2016, after over five years together, the group disbanded on a temporary basis to pursue solo projects. Styles will be appearing in the anticipated Christopher Nolan film ‘Dunkirk’; the film is due in IMAX theaters this summer.
