Celebrities, take heart: LAX is installing pest control. From this point on, shows like TMZ might need to find new ways to get one-on-one access to the rich and famous in Los Angeles thanks to Los Angeles International’s new private terminal, The Private Suite.
The new VIP terminal at LAX is located on the other side of the airstrip from the main terminal, far, far away from the snooping eyes and cameras of the paparazzi.
Guests of The Private Suite have access to private check-in, security screening, and customs processing. They are driven to and from their plane via a private BMW and will have all of their baggage handled while they kick back and relax in one of the luxury suites.
The new private terminal is owned and operated by Gavin de Becker & Associates, a security firm that offers similar VIP services at airports around the globe, most noticeably a similar set up at London Heathrow.
Of course, the Private Suite isn’t an expression of LAX’s sympathetic frustration, and privacy continues to have a price. Fees for access to the private terminal range from $2,000 to $4,000, depending on the desired level of privacy while coming or leaving LAX. There is also the option of taking out a $7,500-per-year membership, which will include added perks such as free massages before flights and reduced rates on terminal access.
The new Private Suite opened on May 15.
