Tokyobike joined forces with a trio of award-winning designers—Calico Wallpaper, Everything Elevated, and Joe Doucetto—to come up with the inaugural bikes in its new Designer Series.

Each designer created a completely unique bicycle, with all three models available for custom order in Tokyobike’s Nolita storefront, or online via the company’s website.

Nick and Rachel Cope of New York-based Calico Wallpaper borrowed from their Aurora wallpaper collection and its ombre look to complete their Designer Series bike. The frame of the bike is specially crafted to create a comfortable ride. There are also details on the bike that recall French porter bicycles of the 1930s.

Next is Everything Elevated’s model, which uses the passivation process for the frame, which both strengthens the metal used on the bike and creates a unique chromatic gold texture. The bike is finished off with Japanese handlebars that look like the ones featured on the first bicycles created for track racing.

Last is Brooklyn-based Joe Doucet and his two-sided design. One side of the bike is gray and the other side is white. Adding to the dichotomy of the design are the grips and the saddle found on the Designer Series example, which are handmade in Italy and crafted using a half-organic canvas and half vulcanized rubber.
