Ryan Seacrest has leased a Manhattan townhouse. The Upper East Side residence will cost the new co-host of New York’s ‘Live with Kelly and Ryan’ $75K/monthly. It is probably only a temporary solution for Mr. Seacrest, however, while he house-hunts in Gotham for something a bit more permanent.

The East 68th Street residence runs to 11,000 square feet of living space, six bedrooms and 5.5 baths. The interiors have seen a recent revision by Michael K. Chen architecture, and the results are impressive. Traditional NYC townhouse details such as herringbone flooring and high ceilings have been augmented with modern elements like LED accent lighting and concept ceilings. There’s a nifty interplay between a sense of enclosure and a sense of release, and it is played out as a motif.

Strident lines are now the rule of thumb for the house, which dates to the 19th century. Everywhere you look, planes intersect within the home. Surface textures via natural stone and woodgrain add the warming influence, balancing things out nicely. But the design references are preoccupied with the history of the machine age, and light fixtures are similarly nostalgic. Interestingly, the staircase transitions from marble to hardwood as it progresses.

The home contains half a dozen fireplaces, a wet bar on the garden level, and five floors overall. Outdoor living areas include a terrace and a rooftop garden.

Entertainer Ryan Seacrest has been a television host and producer since the 1990’s. In 2006, the Emmy Award-winner founded Ryan Seacrest Productions. He joined Kelly Ripa on ‘Live!’ this year.
