The portable Beoplay P2 might not be as whimsical as the BeoSound Shape modular wall audio system, but the new creation is much easier to take on the go.

B&O’s speaker is the ideal shape for packing in a purse or backpack, and it’s splash and dust resistant, making it a great fit for poolside party or picnicking sound production. As usual, customers can expect crystal clear sound and Bluetooth connectivity, in addition to 10-hour playback on full battery power, and an ultra-modern design.

However, users won’t find any button and switch controls. Using the unit might involve a strange adjustment at first, since the P2 takes on an unusually sleek design for a speaker; it’s essentially a giant touchscreen without the screen. You’ll get the hang of it, though. With a perforated front and distinctive pebble shape, it also fits easily in the palm of one’s hand.

Complete with a USB-C port, lanyard loop, and the customizable Beoplay app, the advanced little speaker is available for $169 in Black, Royal Blue, and Sand Stone.
