Retired NBA player Lamar Odom is marketing his home in Miami. The former professional athlete and reality-T.V. star is asking $5.2 million for the property, which is situated in the Pinecrest neighborhood in the southern tier of the city.

The Florida style house dates to 2002, and measures 8,557 square feet. There are six bedrooms and eight baths throughout.

The home’s sense of scale is considerable. From the expansive, symmetrical façade, to the gaping foyer, and beyond, the design seeks to evoke a generous sense of space. The foyer’s twin marble columns, twin marble staircases, second-floor gallery, and double height domed ceiling present quite a first impression.

Floors throughout the home are stone, typically high gloss, and they give the home much of the formality that distinguishes it. Ceilings are a mix of contemporary and more ornate designs, and lighting runs the gamut from chandelier to industrial-influenced pendants. The staircase balustrades are deco.

The kitchen may be the most appealing room of the home; it’s big, too big to be intimately creative, but the cherry cabinets add a welcome dash of woodgrain, and the copper pendants over the stovetop island augment the warmth.

This is a Miami estate, though, so the property exterior gets a lot of attention. A pool and spa area incorporates a pool house with flanking stone pergolas, a basketball court, patios and terraces all take advantage of the Florida sun.

Lamar Odom’s marriage to Khloe Kardashian led to appearances on the family’s reality television program, as well as a spinoff, ‘Khloe and Lamar.’ His professional playing career peaked with seven seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers.
