Television personality Lauren Conrad has sold a home in Santa Barbara. The reality T.V. star and businesswoman accepted $4.995 million for the property, which she purchased with her husband in 2015 for $4.4 million.
The neo Spanish revival home dates to 2004, and sprawls across about 5,900 square feet. It’s a five bedroom and 5.5 bath design, with all bedrooms fashionably en-suite.
The interiors blend various historical referents in the postmodern manner, with the Spanish style acting as a foundation. Many of the interior architectural elements are familiar—exposed beams, dark wood, wrought iron, wide plank flooring, semicircular tile roof, turret entry, courtyard, and tile accents—while lighting is generally more contemporary. A mix of arch styles brings visual interest, and softens.
The two-story, rambling layout features an oval-shaped foyer leading to a step-up living room with fireplace; kitchen, dayroom, dining room and family room are all incorporated in an open-concept space, giving the home a nice sense of liberated, modern space. The kitchen’s subway tile and pendant lighting add a little industrial influence to the home.
The staircase—a pleasingly plain, hardwood design—opens up the second floor. The master suite is generously proportioned, and features a vaulted ceiling, a sitting room with French door access to the master balcony.
The exterior of the property works a pool, patio, grill and dining area, tiered landscaping, and a bit of lawn into the one and one-half acre lot.
Lauren Conrad’s appearance as the focus of reality-T.V. ‘Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County’ led to another reality-T.V. role in ‘The Hills.’ Conrad has penned several best-selling novels.
