The new Knops adjustable ear plugs are offering music lovers incredible sound and an awesome look. Developed by musicians, the new plugs offer clear sound blended with ambient noise buffering. They’re ideal for musicians, concert-goers, or those who are wild about clubbing, but tinnitus…not so much.

Knops gives the wearer full control of the sound levels coming in, and does so via a simple dial located on the side of the unit. The wearer can still hear their surroundings, but at the same time the Knops plugs protects the auditory canal from loud noises in daily life—music, machines, or other sources—in order to prevent long-term hearing damage.

There are four settings. The first level offers no filtering at all, and the next cancels out lower levels of ambient noise. The third is designed to cancel out live music, and the final level provides complete sound cancellation (or as close to it as non-electronic noise canceling devices can be).

There are two finish options available—stainless steel and gold plated—but both come with either black or white motifs paired against the metal.

Knops began as a Kickstarter project, with funding beginning just eight days ago, smashing its $32,500 goal and bringing in over $100,000 in the first week.

Currently, the Knops Kickstarter page is offering the stainless steel edition at around a $110 and the gold-plated version for about $215. The discounted early Kickstarter prices start at about $65 for the stainless steel example and around $120 for the gold-plated version.
