CNN ‘Lead’ anchor Jake Tapper has sold a home in Washington, D.C. The journalist accepted an offer of $1.4 million for the property, which he purchased about a decade ago for a little under $1.25 million.
Currently set up as a three bedroom, with 3.5 baths, the home is a traditional-style measuring a little more than 2,900 square feet. It’s a fairly recent build, and features some contemporary-influenced design elements, including the occasional soaring ceiling, geometric flourish, and—in the master bedroom—a dramatic vertical accent window.
Tones within are a good contrast of cool and warm, the latter by way of high-gloss hardwood plank flooring; outside, hot pink is used as an accent color on the front door and side gate. The kitchen features gray cabinetry and an open partition. The family room incorporates a minimalist fireplace with a subdued plank surround, and features a set of glass doors to the wraparound deck. Deck access is also granted through the dining room and dayroom.
The home makes the most of its lot size by offering a compact footprint, and opening at the rear into four floors. The deck is on the second floor in the back of the house, and looks out over the flagstone patio, a little patch of lawn, and the sylvan Forest Hills neighborhood.
Tapper began his network career at ABC, where he advanced to Senior White House Correspondent; joining CNN in 2013, he was given his own hard news program, ‘The Lead with Jake Tapper’, and has since launched another CNN program, ‘State of the Union with Jake Tapper’.
