It’s no secret that turntables and records are back in style. But Tri-Art Audio’s Sprout Bamboo Turntable isn’t like anything you’ll find at a thrift store.

Tri-Art Audio selected bamboo for more than its vibration-damping abilities. Since bamboo grows so quickly and requires no fertilizer or irrigation, the audio brand is marketing their new creation straight to eco-friendly music listeners. It’s a green way to satisfy the nostalgic purist.

However, the Sprout TA-0.5 isn’t just ecologically relevant, it’s built to produce great sound. While the platter, plinth, legs, and tonearm are crafted from bamboo, the belt drive does its 33.3 or 45 RPM magic due to a 24 pole synchronous AC motor.

In addition, a brass pulley, an aluminum sub-platter with a steel shaft, and bronze and steel bearings are utilized to bring the bamboo creation to musical life.

Perfect for the eco-conscious audiophile, the Sprout TA-0.5 is available starting at $650.
