Typical mobile homes only offer the ability to hit the open road…as long as it’s paved. But what about those who want to take their mobile lifestyle to the next level?
For those adventurous voyagers, or hobbyist cartographers, Arctic Trucks Iceland, Geocar, and Hurter Offroad have taken a Toyota Hilux and turned it into an awesome, rugged camper truck called the Expedition V1: a Hilux pickup revised as a back road-worthy trekker.
Powering the Expedition V1 is a 3.0-liter diesel engine that pumps out a solid 225 horsepower. The Expedition V1 also comes equipped with offroading luxuries: HELLA lights, a WARN cable, front and rear differential locks, a TJM snorkel, underbelly protection, and an internal radio control unit.
The Expedition V1 is not for sale, much to the chagrin of those looking for just this kind of lifestyle off-roader. But it does offer a finished example of the possibilities awaiting those who’d like to design a similar model.
