Cobie Smulders and Taran Killam have listed their condo at 2 Riverhouse. The unit, a penthouse at The Riverhouse, hit the market with an asking price of $3.995 million. The couple purchased the property about six years ago, and paid around $2 million.
The condo, which was designed by David Rockwell, measures 1,580 square feet, and contains three bedrooms and three baths. It features loft-like design appointments, including a large, open-concept common living space, 10’ ceilings, and plenty of glass.
The interior architecture is very modern, with recessed lighting and clean, hard angles throughout; a dining room chandelier, and a trio of steampunk-industrial kitchen pendants, adds a little character to the space.
The property layout makes the most of the limited square footage; throughout the home, a nice sense of possibility prevails. Tones are well contrasted, as well: the master bath, for example, is a blend of cool, warm wood and tile, bringing together muted blues and yellows. Elsewhere, walls have been rendered in subtle cool tones, against all the woodgrain used in the design.
The penthouse location increases the living space, with a 650 square foot outdoor terrace.
The building was a green project, and sustainable materials were used in the construction of the residences: bamboo floors and teak cabinetry, Corian countertops, and triple-layer windows. Water and air are twice-filtered, and non-toxic finishes were used.
The building features a media café, fitness center with yoga studio, and—most interestingly—‘Poet’s House’: a 45,000 volume library devoted to verse.
Cobie Smulders is best known as Robin from the long-running series ‘How I Met Your Mother’; she appears in a starring role in the upcoming film ‘Literally, Right Before Aaron’. SNL alum Taran Killam appears with J.K. Simmons in this year’s film ‘All Nighter’.
