Danny and Nicole Cannon have listed a home in Brentwood. The writer, producer and director is marketing the property with an asking price of $9.25 million; Cannon and his wife purchased the house in 2010, for $7.75 million.

The two-story home measures 8,300 square feet, and contains six bedrooms and eight baths. It features an outdoor spiral staircase, a generously-proportioned wine cellar, and a wood-paneled library.

From the entry, the home suggests a nice sense of space. The foyer is double-height, and the design opens up the common areas beautifully, sneaking the staircase in to one side, which gives the house a very invitational quality.

Floors are hardwood, finished gloss and on the darker side, offering contrast to the whitewashed or muted cool tones of the walls. Light fixtures are recessed, with occasional cut-glass chandeliers adding a little period formality, and plank ceilings add some intimate cottage charm to the larger-sized home.

Bedrooms offer private, slate-tiled terraces, and vaulted ceilings to augment the abundant natural light from a liberal use of glass. The warm-toned master bedroom is the most heavily stylized room of the house: one wall is paneled in silk, and it features a fireplace with a mosaic tile surround, and an ornate chandelier, all offset with a vaulted, planked ceiling in white.

The exterior living space includes a covered porch beyond multiple sets of French doors, with a stacked-stone fireplace accenting the outdoor lounge area. A broad lawn, large pool, and patio capped by a long trellis fill out the half-acre lot.

Danny Cannon’s production credits include, among others, ‘CSI’ and ‘Gotham’; his directorial credits include numerous episodes of both, as well as a series of films. Most recently, he worked on the CBS series ‘Training Day’.
