The year 2018 will mark 65 years of the Chevrolet Corvette, and GM is releasing a limited-ed model with carbon fiber appointments to honor the event, and maybe help out their company bottom line as well. As it’s the model’s 65th anniversary, the company had the choice of opting for a production run of either 65 or 650 examples. They elected to go with the latter.

The 2018 Corvette Carbon 65 Grand Sport 3LT and Z06 3LZ models will be decked out with an anniversary package consisting of unique cosmetics made of the super-stiff, super-light material: quarter ducts, rear spoiler, hood section, roof or tonneau, and interior flourishes like a carbon-fiber accent rim on the steering wheel give the Carbon 65 package-equipped vehicles a liberal dose of supercar credibility.

The Carbon 65 package examples will all be painted in the same dramatic finish: Ceramic Matrix Gray. Additionally, stripes and door graphics unique to the edition will make the Carbon 65 vehicles that much more recognizable. Carbon logo, flash badges, and sport mirrors also distinguish the package-equipped vehicles. Carbon. And lots of it.

Wheels on the edition cars will be black, with blue brake calipers; another highly visual contrast. The interior upholstery will be suede-wrapped black, with blue stitching. Sport seats are also included in the package.

The Carbon 65 Corvette package will be available as an option on Grand Sport 3LT and Z06 3LZ models, until 650 cars have rolled through production. The package is priced at $15K.
