‘Teen Wolf’ and ‘Terra Nova’ Producer René Echevarria Gets $1.9M for Agoura Hills Mediterranean

Writer and producer René Echevarria has transformed his home in Agoura Hills into nearly $1.9 million. Echevarria listed the home in January, for $1.949 million, and negotiated the sale at $1.87 million. He purchased the home in 2014, for $1.78 million.

The modern Spanish-style house measures about 5,350 square feet, and contains six bedrooms and five baths. It dates to the late 1980’s.

The home’s façade features a winning blend of traditional and modern features: a low-pitched, tiled roof and large windows combine to evoke the Spanish style, and provide it with a contrast of contemporary sensibilities.

Inside, a double-height foyer is centered with an arcing staircase, and wide-plank hardwood floors, contrasting hardwood stairs, and iron balustrade and railing offset the whitewash. No arches, though. Hard angles throughout. With the recessed lighting, recessed ceilings, and the white interior, the interior is very modern. Carved wood fireplace mantels and exposed beams lend a little history, but don’t overwhelm. It’s a fairly understated interior, and doesn’t declare allegiance to either Spanish or Modern design influences. The in-wall aquarium gives tropical fish a good view of the human world.

Upstairs, the master bedroom features hardwood floors, a tile fireplace, a large dressing room, and walk-in closet. The master bathroom is rendered in warm-toned tile.

The property exterior features a tiered patio and pool/spa lounge area, with nicely incorporated landscaping. Brick and cobalt tile add to the home’s charm, and there is an attached pergola sheltering the outside dining area.

Echevarria is best known for his work on ‘Star Trek: The Next Generation.’ He executive-produced many episodes of MTV’s ‘Teen Wolf,’ and has worked as a writer or producer on numerous other series.
