C.J. Wilson—formerly a pitcher for Anaheim—has sold a home in Corona Del Mar. The ex-Angel accepted $2.65 million for the house, which he picked up about two years ago for $2.37 million.
The house is a two-story, and features a second-floor deck along the rear of the home. The hillside location offers good views of the surrounding landscape from ground and second-floor levels.
The house measures about 3,400 square feet, and contains five bedrooms and four baths. The interior features a nice blend of hardwood and tile floors; the step-down family room contains a marble fireplace, and a dayroom incorporates a set of sliding glass doors to access the patio.
The construction dates to the mid 1970’s, but has been renovated. The kitchen remodel features pendant lighting, and somewhat nondescript countertops and cabinetry. The master bedroom—designed as a refuge—offers some lovely views of Newport, and is the center of the home. The master bath is spacious, and is divided between a dressing-room and tub/shower room by a set of frosted glass doors. Vanity countertops and floors are variations on the beige tones used throughout the first floor.
The property exterior is generously proportioned, too, with adequate space for entertaining, and grill/outdoor dining and pool areas on the ground level, and lounge space on the deck.
After a series of career-ending injuries, C.J. Wilson retired from professional baseball last year. He spent about ten seasons in the game, and is now building a second career as a racecar driver and businessman; he owns fifteen car dealerships between the Midwest and the West Coast, and is the founder of C.J. Wilson Racing.
