The longtime home of late ESPN sportscaster John Saunders in Hastings-on-Hudson, New York, has come up for sale for $2.85 million.
Saunders lived in the contemporary house from 1990 until his death in August of last year. Saunders’ widow, Wanda, and their two daughters decided the home was now just too large for their needs, prompting the sale.
Measuring in at 7,107 square feet, the five-bedroom, 5.5-bathroom home features a massive open floor plan perfect for entertaining, and is loaded with high modernist and Japanese design motifs. The house contains a gym, a guest suite, and a home theater.
Outside, the 2.3 acre property boasts plenty of room to roam, a four-car garage, a hot tub, and a pool.
Saunders joined ESPN in 1986 and stayed with the sports giant until his passing. While with ESPN, Saunders was the studio host for NHL broadcasts from 1992 until 2004, the host of the “The Sports Reporters” starting in 2001, and a play-by-play voice for NBA broadcasts, in addition to his other roles at the network.
