FLOS has revealed a new Patricia Urquiola-designed lamp dubbed Serena, which offers a playful nod to nature with a leaf-shaped reflector.

The LED lighting for the Serena lamp is provided by a cylindrical base. The base also holds up the leaf-like shade, which sits at an angle, inclining toward the source of light, suggesting heliotropism.

The black base plays nicely off the aluminum, black nickel, or copper finish leaves that reflect the light. The leaf-shaped shades are crafted from sheared and folded pre-anodized aluminum, creating a completely unique look.

Urquiola drew inspiration from the way leaves naturally act with light in the real world. “It is a light that’s domestic in nature,” Urquiola said about the Serena lamp. “It wants to fit in.”
